Shi Xiangyun

Shi Xiangyun was a beautiful and talented girl who lived in the 18th century. She was orphaned as a child and raised by her aunt and uncle, who made her work hard at embroidery and needlework. Xiangyun was always cheerful and kind, and she loved to play jokes. She was also a talented poet and a member of the Crab Flower Club. Xiangyun was one of Daiyu's closest friends, and she was always there for her when she needed her. In one of the most memorable scenes in the book, Xiangyun gets tipsy and falls asleep in the garden, surrounded by butterflies. This scene is depicted in many artworks featuring the novel's characters. In the continuation of the novel by Gao E and Cheng Weiyuan, Xiangyun marries but is soon widowed.
